O’Reilly’s imminent book ‘Beautiful Data - The Stories Behind Elegant Data Solutions”. The quality of O’Reilly books is so much more hit and miss these days, which I guess is understandable given their huge breadth. But I’m hoping this book turns out to be a good one.

Interesting article which highlights evidence that challenges the Long Tail theory. It appears the product suggestion engines which are based on ‘customers who bought this, also bought these…’ kinds of logic, reinforce the purchase of popular products. Better tools or methods are needed to ‘discover’ the golden pins hidden in the haystack.
